What's Up Everybody,
This is Ahdedott checking in on the KJLU alumini blog. I was an on-air announcer at KJLU since Fall 2001. I started off on Monday Nights with my own show "Live in the Gangway with Ahdedott", and later moved to "Krunkdafied Tuesdays" on Tuesday Nights. My targeted audience was more-so the talented artists and listeners who had longed to hear good music with substance. As a hip-hop artist I had a desire to expose the unknown talent that Mid-Missouri had to offer. I must say working in Public Service via Radio was and is the best position I've ever worked. The Love and Support the community gives is undeniable. As of today, I'm still searching to pursue a career in Broadcast Media. It has been a long road to follow, after working in the college radio field for so long. The response is usually "you"ll have to intern with our station and must currently be enrolled in college to do so." Well, there goes the challenge, being that I graduated in December 2004.I'm convinced that the way it all works out is on a who-you-know basis. With my B.S. Degree in Journalism and my persistance, I'm sure I will be the next staff member of a commercial station in St. Louis. This is my story. Feel free to pass on any leads to any genre of radio stations in St. Louis.
